The Roofs Caving In | Week 11 Recap

Another home loss for the Cowboys. The Texans take the battle of Texas 34-10.

10 points?!? That must mean there was a touchdown scored!

Fire the cannons and sound the bell, the Cowboys scored their first home touchdown in two months. It was done pretty impressively too.

A Touchdown!

KaVontae Turpin flashed his speed with a 64 yard touchdown on a quick slant from Rush. KaVontae Turpin reached a top speed of 22.36 mph on his reception, the fastest speed by a ball carrier this season, and the fastest play by a Cowboys ball carrier in the NGS era (since 2016).

Add on Micah Parsons 10 pressures, and that pretty much wraps up all the good that came from the Cowboys on Monday.

Ceedee Lamb made a comment after the game that suggested teams are looking to embarrass the Cowboys every week. And that was felt Monday.

The Joe Mixon Show

It all started on the first play when a 77 yard touchdown pass to Nico Collins, luckily for Dallas it was called back by an iffy penalty.

Otherwise the Texans passing offense did not look all that great, and I am sure there are concerns in Houston’s media today. Instead they looked toward the running game. Which Joe Mixon dominated through the night.

Joe Mixon rushed for 109 yards and 3 touchdowns on 20 carries, with 8 of his runs generating positive EPA (40%).

Injury News

During the game the offense saw a lot of injuries.

Jake Ferguson left with a concussion.

The offensive line had a bunch of their own. Zack Martin the main one, he’s been dealing with some ankle problems this season and looked very slow to get back up after the injury. He will likely be out for some time.

Tyler Smith also left the game with an ankle injury shortly after Martin. Tyler Guyton has been dealing with some soreness in his neck and shoulder, he was questionable coming into the game and was replaced by Asim Richards during the game.

Lastly, the Cowboys lost a core special teams guy for the season. Markquese Bell dislocated his shoulder on return coverage, and was assisted off the field. Coach Fassel announced yesterday that he would need surgery.

Overall

The Cowboys again this week, kept the game close in the first half. But quickly lost the battle in the second half.

They currently are just not a good enough team to go a full 60 minutes. Cooper Rush was sacked 5 times again, this time he didn’t turn the ball over as much as he did last week. He also threw 305 yards more than he did last week, so things are trending positive there.

I think the Cowboys will roll with Rush through Thanksgiving, though fans are wanting to see Trey Lance give it a go. At some point if the Cowboys are still pretending that they are playing to win, you would need to make a QB change.
