The Cowboys snap their 5 game losing streak, and all it took was playing on the road. A 34-26 victory for Dallas, but that score doesn’t tell the story of this game.
Through the first half of this game, you couldn’t convince me that either team was trying to win. The blunders made by both sides were ugly. But honestly it started as it’s pretty much expected for the Cowboys this year.
The real story is on the Commanders, as Kliff Kingsbury rolled out an offense that couldn’t get anything going. There is plenty of overreactions going on in the Commanders media today.
Special Team Mishaps and Bad Offense

The Cowboys came out of the gates strong, driving down the field in what seemed to be some of their best work under Cooper Rush. But after a failed jet sweep to Lamb, the Cowboys ended up settling for three. A gimmie for Dallas.
It was blocked by Washington, and it seemed that the story of this game was going to end there. The Commanders get the ball in their territory from the return, but a stop by the Dallas D makes them settle for three.
Dallas goes down a misses a field goal off the upright. Brandon Aubrey has been jokingly referred to as the Cowboys best player, and sometimes there is some truth behind that remark.
The rest of the first half featured some weird turnovers and it seemingly was a circus on field for both teams. Cooper rush throws an interception to former Cowboy Noah Igbinoghene, on the return Lamb cracks him and pops the ball in the air for a Hunter Luepke recovery…Cowboys still have the ball.
The very next play was probably the best pass all year from Rush. 41 yards to Jalen Brooks and set up Brandon Aubrey to tie the game as time expired, 3-3 into half.
Both teams opened the 2nd half with touchdown drives. But we saw a missed extra point from Washington and a blocked Dallas punt.

So here we are in the 4th quarter with under 6 minutes to go. What the heck happened for a 34-26 finish?
Eric Kendricks forces the fumble for Dallas to have the ball at the 22, and on the play above, a broken coverage leaves a wide open Luke Schoonmaker for the score.
KaVontae Turpin For MVP
One of the more underrated keys to the Cowboys this season, only if the Cowboys were more competitive where he could really be utilized. Turpin leads the NFL in return average on kicks and has found the endzone a few teams this season.
His kick return touchdown registered 21.35 mph, which puts him in the top 20 for the third time in fastest plays in the NFL this season.

The Commanders would have an 86 yard TD but miss the extra point and the Cowboys win. How bout that?
Overall
Though I may support getting the best draft pick possible.
I don’t want to intentionally tank, we still have to play with some heart and there are tons of players on the team that are playing for jobs.
