Why are we still allowing ties to exist in 2025… I had no idea what to look into when anticipating this recap. This was not one of them.
A back-and-forth game, Dallas kept it closer than I could have predicted. After punting to open the 2nd half Dallas would score on the next 4 drives.
The Cowboys would have a 34-yard pass to Jalen Tolbert, just an absolute prayer that I thought was being thrown away.
The Cowboys got stopped up inside the 5, and took the three points. On defense they allowed the Packers to drive but were able to get the stop in the redzone. With time running out the Packers were left with no other choice than to kick a field goal for the tie.
A 40-40 tie marked the first tie for Dallas since Thanksgiving of 1969 against the San Francisco 49ers.
Now we are sitting with a 1-2-1 Cowboys team and not sure how we are supposed to feel after that.
There are a lot of notes that will need to be further analyzed from the game.
But the top note is the performance by Dak Prescott. He absolutely stepped up, with the first touchdown drive being a 95-yard 11 play series.

Green Bay played zone on 87.8% of Prescott’s dropbacks, and he responded by completing 29 of 35 passes for 294 yards and all three of his touchdowns. Against man coverage, he attempted just five passes, completing two for 25 yards. Prescott also added a 2-yard rushing score in the second quarter, his first rushing touchdown of the season.
But the defense failing to get one stop in the second half. Poor wrap up tackling. Cowboys had 11 penalties for 95 yards and it felt like a majority of those were all avoidable.
A great day for Pickens, catching 8 of his 11 targets for 134 yards and two touchdowns, his 2nd-most yards in a game in his career.

Lastly one of my favorite parts of the game was driving for their first touchdown to cut the lead down to 4 for GB. Being able to force a fumble, James Houston with a strip sack and recovery.
Immediately hitting George Pickens for a TD. Cowboys went to half time with a 16-13 lead and got the ball to start the 3rd quarter.
