The Run Ends | Lions Recap

The Cowboys defense came spiraling back to Earth. Can’t get a stop and the offense didn’t turn it on until it was too late…much like the late run to the post season…too little too late. Cowboys lose in Detroit, 44-30.

The disaster starts with the Cowboys kickoff coverage. Allowing drives to start at midfield just about every time. Cowboys defense couldn’t get any meaningful stops but the few they did. It was already field goal range.

From the very beginning, Jahmyr Gibbs couldn’t be tackled. Defenders were slipping off him like he was covered in grease. He danced around and was able to get 3 rushing touchdowns. He had 120 yards from scrimmage. Montgomery was the leading rusher with a breakaway 35 yard score.

The offense struggled early. Only scoring 9 points including a before half field goal. Though with 50 seconds the Lions were able to extend their lead to 20-9. To open the 2nd half the ball immediately bounced off George Pickens for an INT.

That’s when it felt like it was over.

Cowboys had an early fumble they lost. But the biggest reason the Cowboys failed to get anything going on offense. They couldn’t block.

Nate Thomas was getting thrown around by Aidan Hutchinson and anyone else who wanted to party. Dak was getting hit every throw, even times where he made the play downfield. You couldn’t keep him clean.

Gotta give props to Ryan Flournoy, he kept this thing alive!

On defense, Amon Ra ended playing after not practicing all week, and looked like he was never hurt. Shavon Revel got his welcome to the NFL moment. He was getting killed all day.

Nothing else good to say…time to draft.
