Coaching Changes Underway

After an extensive coaching search, the Cowboys finally found their match. Last week, the Cowboys announced the hiring of Christian Parker.

Parker was formally the passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. He worked under Vic Fangio, a familiar headache for Dallas fans.

Now, Dallas has a disciple of that system in their pocket. Additionally, Parker spent three seasons as the DB coach in Denver just after the departure of Fangio as head coach. Parker got his break into the NFL when he was hired in Green Bay in 2019.

The Cowboys had one of the worst defenses in the NFL last season, and moving on from Matt Eberflus was bound to happen. But now we are seeing the second wave as some of the position coaches are out of a job.

Now the movement has begun as some coaches’ assistants have started to move around, and now the Cowboys are interviewing all levels of the defensive side.

Aaron Whitecotton Moves On

The big loss for Dallas was losing Aaron Whitecotton, who coached the defensive line in 2025. Considering his relationship with Quinnen Williams and Solomon Thomas. But now he’s heading to Tennessee to coach their defensive line.

Whitecotton coordinated the defense for the East-West Shrine Bowl, so we hoped to get some good ideas of potential defensive prospects coming out of the draft.

Former Coach, New Job

The big hire that raises an eyebrow to Cowboys fans. Mike McCarthy was named the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. After his name floated around in some interviews. It became a realistic choice that McCarthy could land a new job.

McCarthy became the first former Dallas HC to land another HC job since Jimmy Johnson.

Now, Dallas will have to watch out for coach and player poaching in Pittsburgh.
