The Cowboys will win two in a row for the first time this season and avoid the season sweep, upsetting the Eagles at home, 24-21.
Even though the Cowboys tried to give the game away, the struggling Eagle offense showed its ugly head. Philly failed to score after the 11 minute mark in the 2nd quarter. 24 unanswered points would help Dallas squeeze by.
A roller coaster of emotions does not describe this game well enough. The Cowboys defense started off the year very poor, but since the bye week, it is unfair to call them that.
At some point it became frustrating that the offense could not convert punts and turnovers into points. After the Eagles took a 21-0 lead early in the second the rest of their drives would go-
- Punt (3 and out)
- Punt (3 and out)
- Punt
- Punt (3 and out)
- Missed FG
- Fumble
- Punt
The hidden moment in that list. After the Saquon fumble forced by Sam Williams, the Cowboys would end up punting shortly after, during the play, Alijah Clark would lay the hitstick on the return man. Fumble! Trent Sieg, the long snapper, would recover it inside the 10.
The Cowboys would fail to punch it in. Even though the first down play was a big gain by Javonte Williams. One of the many questionable decisions by the offense would be choosing to pass 3 straight times inside the 5 and turning it over on downs.
One play would be a bad drop by Ceedee Lamb, who hadn’t look right all game. Though he had 11 targets on the day, he only came up with 4 catches for 75 yards. A few drops that he shouldn’t have.
As for the other WR, George Pickens is becoming more expensive by the day. Hand him a blank check. 9 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown. Including a 24-yard slant that set the Cowboys up to win the game.
He makes a killing on just running slant routes, then he will make a tough catch down the field. Pickens TD would be a quick out route in goal-line. Brevyn Spann-Ford would grab his first TD of his career, and to tie it – vintage Dak Prescott.
Though the Cowboys had to fight for it, never apologize for a win.
There is no time to think about this game, take the momentum and keep going. The Cowboys will play again in 4 days, Thanksgiving against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs narrowly avoided the first 3-game losing streak of the Mahomes era. They win in OT against the Colts 23-20. They are a team on the outside looking into the playoffs much like the Cowboys.
Though the Cowboys path is a little more long and rugged. Owner and GM Jerry Jones still believes its possible.
